This is early in the season when the water is gushing over the rocks. By the fall the flow is way down and it is just a calm tumble. This painting is really about the soft spray of the falls against the dark trees.

Now-a-days the bales are wrapped to tight in fabric that they look like they are make out of plastic. The day after this rancher rolled these bales his tractor literally burned up in his field, so sadly this will be the last of the old fashioned bales at this ranch.
